ARRIVING TO GREAT ALASKA AT BEGINNING OF TRIP:

Great Alaska Adventures offers complimentary pickups in Anchorage as part of our all inclusive trips. Daily pickups range from 7:30 a.m. to about 8:00 a.m., depending upon the number of hotels we are stopping at that day. When booking your trip, please tell your reservation agent what hotel you'll be staying at and what hotel we'll be disignating for pickup. 24 hours prior to your trip, please contact our lodge at (866) 411-2327 to confirm the pickup. (We are all about zero issues!

Anchorage Pickups are not a daily event- all pickups are arranged in advance, so be sure get that pickup into to us as soon as you can. The office is staffed from 7:00 a.m. Alaska time to approximately 6:00 pm Alaska time - if you arrive on a red eye, it's extra important to contact us at least 24 hours prior to your pickup time to confirm that pickup.

DESIGNATED HOTELS WE PICKUP AT: Pickups begin at 7:30 a.m. and run through about 8:00 am.): The Captain Cook Hotel, the Anchorage Hilton, the Voyager Hotel (all downtown), the Lakefront Hotel and Airport Courtyard by Marriot (both near airport). The many new Midtown hotels are within a 10 minute Uber or taxi of one of these pickup points. Sorry but we must keep the number of pickup points restricted to keep to schedule on your first day with us.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FOR THOSE PLANNING TO DRIVE IN:

Our address is 33881 Sterling Highway, Sterling Alaska 99672

  • Head South from Anchorage on the SEWARD HIGHWAY - travel approx. 45 miles around Turnagain Arm (watch for the Bore Tide!) and the road heads into the Kenai mountains.
  • Continue on Seward highway 45 more miles over Turnagain pass and past Summit Lake, and take a RIGHT at the "Seward Y". (Sign will read "left to seward, Right to Homer/Soldotna")
  • Travel 45 more beautiful miles along Kenai Lake and Kenai River until you reach the small town of Sterling, Alaska. CROSS MOOSE RIVER BRIDGE- THEN TAKE 1ST DRIVEWAY ON THE LEFT (only 50 feet from end of bridge). Enter driveway - take immediate LEFT and head down to our office on the river for check in.

For those driving in, road construction is a fact of life in Alaska - plan on leaving by 7:00 a.m. from Anchorage and you'll have plenty of time to stop for photos, Moose or road work. Enter driveway - take immediate LEFT and head down to our office on the river for check in.

RETURN TO ANCHORAGE AT END OF TRIP:

If you drove in, reverse the process! Check out time is 2:00 (you'll return from your final days activity by 12:00 pm), so you'll have time to shower up check out and say goodbyes.

COMMUTER AIR FROM KENAI AIRPORT: 175.00 per person plus tax: Our Great Alaska driver will shuttle you to the Kenai airport for a short commuter air flight *20 minutes flying time) back to the Anchorage Airport.

FLOATPLANE DIRECT FROM GREAT ALASKA: (250.00 per person) We also offer an amazing floatplane return to Anchorage, daparting the ldoge about 3:00 or so each day. (PLEASE NOTE: depart time vairies daily! ) Be sure to have a minimum of 1.5 hours in Anchorage prior to you departing flight. Arrival time to Anchorage is typically about 4:30 each day.
