Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 Hotel pickup/fly to bearcamp© 

Courtesy van Pickup in Anchorage at your hotel, followed by a beautiful sightseeing trip down the Kenai Peninsula to Great Alaska Adventure Lodge. Orientation and lunch at the main lodge and then on to the airport for the spectacular bush plane flight to our Bear Camp. The balance of your day is spent viewing bears.  Unlimited time on the platform and ground level viewing stations- no more than 12 guests at any time ensure at remarkable experience for you.  Cuisine is flown in daily from the main lodge and prepared by your guides. Overnight in comfortable “Weather Port” tent cabins with twin beds, and propane heat.   
Day 2

Day 2 wild bear viewing

One more final morning with the bears and true wilderness.  By now you may have names for some of the more visible members of the local bear population!  After lunch, your return bush flight will bring you back to our main lodge on the Kenai River.  Settle in to your riverside cabin with private bath, and fireplace, overlooking the confluence of the Kenai and Moose rivers.  Welcome back to our version of civilize camp.

Day 3 Glacier Hiking

One the Kenai peninsula and Chugach National forest is renowned for it's hiking opportunities, and this great day will take advantage of a unique form- Glacier hiking.  We have found a great new operator to take moderate glacier travel to experience a uniquely Alaskan experience.  More info on this great trip coming soon.  Lunch will be served on the trail and you'll return in the afternoon to your comfortable riverfront cabins to enjoy a bit of civilization!
Day 4

Day 4 Treetop Zip Line adventure

Today we'll get the old heart racing a new way- by zipping along the treetops on a safe and exciting zip line adventure.  We have found a new safe and fun vendor providing these amazing trips.  In addition to the exhilarating zip line experience, we'll hike to the base of a glacier close enough to touch.  Return to main lodge fore happy hour, dinner and overnigh.  After ziplining we'lll explore the quaint town of Seward for a little shopping, or add another aerobic hike to the agenda!  Return to main lodge for dinner and overnight.
6 mile river whitewater rafting

Day 5 whitewater rafting

The adventure continues with a whitewater raft trip on the famous class IV river known only as “6 Mile”. From your initial swimming test to the invigorating canyon runs, we use the finest guides in the area to explore the thrill that is whitewater rafting.  This trip will keep your adrenaline pumping until the final pull out. We’ll end the day energized and share the pictures "on the big screen" at happy hour in the lodge. Swim test required - not all guests will be able to do the final canyon, which is rated at class 5.
Chugach Mt. Biking

Day 6 mountain biking

Mountain biking in the Chugach!  The trail today leads uphill in the Kenai Mountains of the Chugach National Forest.  The route is beautiful crosses cold crystal clear streams before reaching our destination at the mountaintop.  Here, you will be able to watch salmon working their way upstream, over waterfalls, to reach their spawning grounds.  More energetic riders will continue up to upper Russian lake. This is the heart of the Sockeye annual migration and Eagles and Brown Bear will be in the area as well. After a great day of breaking a sweat, we'll return to the lodge for drinks, appetizers and dinner.

Day 7  Kenai Wildlife refuge Paddling/return to Anchorage

This morning we'll enjoy a flat-water paddle into the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.  We'll motor up to our tent camp at the border of the refuge, and then depart from the comfortable day lodge for a wilderness paddle along the serpentine Moose river.  Moose, Lynx, Swans and many other noteworthy species call this special region home.  Return to the main lodge at noon, check out and depart by commuter air or Charter Float plane (not included) arriving Anchorage airport approximately 4:30 pm.activity, transfer to Kenai airport for your return to Anchorage. (transfer not included).
