Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1

Day 1

Board the historic Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to seaport town of Seward, where you’ll meet your guides.  Jump right in with a cruise of Kenai Fjords, where you may see whales, sea lions, bird rookeries Glaciers and more…following the cruise take a short boat ride to our Seacoast Adventure Camp for 2 days of wilderness kayaking. Your guides will prepare all meals and instruct you in paddling, while you explore this truly amazing area.  There will be time for an evening paddle (after initial instruction), before your first night in the wild.   Overnight in nylon outfitter tents with sleeping cots. 
Day 2

Day 2

Sea kayaking– you’ll paddle across the cove, exploring the crystal-clear waters and amazing scenery.  Perfect for beginners or experienced paddlers, we’ll focus on the wildlife and incredible coastline while working on our paddling skills.  Return to the camp in the afternoon for relaxing, tide-pooling, beachcombing or even clamming if the tides are right!  Overnight at the camp.

Day 3

We’ll depart the camp early in the morning and head back to the main lodge for showers and a hot lunch. Following lunch and orientation, we’ll take a short drive to the airport for the spectacular bush plane flight to our spectacular Bear Camp. Your guides (with you at all times) will instruct you on life in bear country, then the balance of the day is spent viewing bears. Cuisine is flown in daily from the main lodge and prepared by your guides. Overnight in comfortable “Weather Port” tent cabins with twin beds, and propane heat and light.
Day 4

Day 4

Wake at your own schedule to hot coffee or tea, then spend the morning with the royalty of Alaskan Wildlife-  the incredible Brown Bear  After lunch, your return bush flight will bring you back to our main lodge on the Kenai River.  Settle in to your riverside cabin with private bath. Hot showers, Happy hour and dinner welcome you back to civilization!
Day 5

Day 5

The adventure continues with a whitewater raft trip on the famous class IV river known only as “6 Mile”. From your “Freestyle” training drift to the fi nal rapid, this trip will keep your adrenaline pumping until the fi nal pull out. We’ll end the day enervated, but happy, with “Sundowners” and friends at the main lodge. Five day trips end with a hike.

Day 6

The End of the Road! See early Russian Churches, active volcanoes, mountain vistas, a famous artist, and probably baby Moose with their mothers. Your first view of Homer on Kachemak Bay is unforgettable as you spend a fun filled day exploring the art and rustic uniqueness of a bush community at “Land’s End”.
Day 7

Day 7

This morning boat into the silent and animal filled Wildlife Refuge, Hike a Tundra game trail to a shoreside lunch---and then board Stable River kayaks for the slow drift down the meandering stream of a Wilderness Paradise. You may opt instead to join a salmon charter on your last morning. Following afternoon Good Byes, depart for Anchorage.
