Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1

Travel the historic Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to seaport town of Seward, then board a cruise of Kenai Fjords, where we’ll hope to see whales, sea lions, bird rookeries, Glaciers and more…following the cruise, a short boat ride brings us to Seacoast Adventure Camp for 2 days of wilderness kayaking. Your guides will prepare all meals and instruct you in paddling while you explore this truly amazing area.  There will be time for an evening paddle (after initial instruction), before your first night in the wild.   Overnight in nylon outfitter tents with sleeping cots.
Day 2

Day 2

Sea Kayaking: A full day of wilderness paddling at the camp.  Return to the camp in the afternoon for relaxing, tide-pooling, beachcombing or even clamming if the tides are right!  Overnight at the camp...
Day 3

Day 3

We’ll depart the camp early in the morning and head back to the main lodge for showers and a hot lunch. Following lunch and orientation, we’ll take a short drive to the airport for the spectacular bush plane flight to our spectacular Bear Camp. Your guides (with you at all times) will instruct you on life in bear country, then the balance of the day is spent viewing bears. Overnight in comfortable “Weather Port” tent cabins with twin beds, and propane heat and light.
Day 4

Day 4

Wake at your own schedule to hot coffee or tea, then spend the morning with the royalty of Alaskan Wildlife-  the incredible Brown Bear  After lunch, your return bush flight will bring you back to our main lodge on the Kenai River for showers where we’ll board our unique “Go-Devil” powered riverboats for the quick trip upriver to Kenai Wildlife Camp, our comfortable tent camp with a cozy day lodge, high wall tents and eco showers.  This will be your home for the final 3 days of your Alaskan adventure
Day 5

Day 5

Hiking in the Chugach!   Your guide will choose from the many and varied trails on the peninsula. A gentle hike through boreal forest, a 3rd-class scramble to a peak overlooking Cook Inlet and the Kenai river,  or something in between; either way we’ll burn some calories and experience some incredible scenery.
Day 6

Day 6

Homer:  No trip to Alaska is complete without a visit to the “End of the Road”.  Early Russian Churches, active Volcanoes and wildlife, plus Homer and Kachemak Bay…unforgettable.  We’ll spend a fun filled day exploring the art and vibe that is “the end of the road”.  Return to camp for dinner.
Day 7

Day 7

Your final day will be a paddle upriver from the camp to spot the Moose, Black bear, Lynx, Eagles, Beaver, Tundra Swan and other wildlife that call this area home.  Depart at 2:30  then depart for the Kenai airport for your short commuter flight (not included) back to anchorage.
