Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1The Bucket List begins on Saturdays, with a pickup at your Anchorage hotel, followed by a 2 1/2 hour tour on Alaska’s most scenic highway as you cross 2 mountain passes & end at our renowned riverside main lodge for lunch. Following orientation, drop your main bag and board a small plane for the flight to our private, remote Bear Camp, named “Best U.S. Bush Camp” by Outside Magazine. Excellent meals flown in daily served with fine wines combine with comfortable accommodations (in comfortable, high tech heated tent-cabins) and world class guides for a unique and memorable experience. |

Day 2Wake at your own schedule to hot coffee or tea, then spend the morning with the royalty of Alaskan Wildlife- the incredible Brown Bear No roads or trails access this area so you'll get a glimpse of the "homesteader experience", and experience a true Alaskan wilderness as you feel your internal clock reset to a different pace. Your final night may include a fire on the beach as the sun "almost" sets! (if you choose you may return to the lodge this day and add an extra day of guided fishing on day three- it's your choice). |

Day 3One more final morning with the bears and true wilderness. An invigorating Beach hike or some final time on the raised platform overlooking the mighty Mt. Illiamna and our beautifuli meadow. After lunch, your return bush flight will bring you back to our main lodge on the Kenai River. Settle in to your riverside cabin with private bath. Hot showers, Happy hour and dinner welcome you back to civilization! Evening shorefishing by the fire, calm water paddling or simply relaxing as the river rolls by is the end of each day for your time at the lodge. |

Day 4Salmon or Trophy Trout Fishing in the Wildlife Refuge is all that you’ve dreamed it could be – clear mountain water, beautiful drifts, and great fishing. Two to four anglers per drift boat will wade the Upper Kenai River in search of Char, Sockeye, Silvers, and especially Rainbow Trout (Trout 6/15 - 9/30). |

Day 5Travel to Kenai Fjords National Park for a day of glacier and wildlife cruising in the incomperable Kenai Fjords National Park. Whales, Orcas, Otter and Puffin are but a few of the residents of this amazing region. Huge glacier carved green mountains peaks jut straight from the water-draped in mist and glaciers this forests. Resurrectino bay is an area you wont' soon forget.he sea in an area you won’t soon forget. Overnight at the main lodge. |

Day 6
Today you'll target the world's largest Salmon- the Kenai King (May 15 - July 31) Target the big kings in comfortable power or quiet drift boats.boat. Two to four anglers per boat will drift, or troll for these amazing fish (catch and release is encouraged on these amazing wild fish). Flyfishing also availble for those who prefer on most or all fishing days. |

Day 7If you chose to go on the Kenai Fjords Cruise on Day 5 ( and miss the Halibut fishing) this is your chance fill that part of YOUR Bucket List. Besides being one of the most beautiful and pristine regions of our state, the waters of Resurrection Bay are home to some of the largest fish in our ocean, the Pacific Halibut, aggressive Ling Cod, Black Bass plus Silver, King and Pink Salmon. Flyfishing or another day of freshwater fishing is also available if you'd prefer. |

DAY 8 A great final day at the lodge – take another Salmon charter, if you want more fish for the table back home, or paddle stable river kayaks onto the meandering stream of the Wildlife Refuge.. We will keep a watchful eye for nesting Swans, hovering Osprey, and the Moose and Bear of this Wilderness Trail. Or do both, if you still have the energy. It’s your choice on the “The Bucket List” |

Day 9And now the Denali Experience! We’ll depart in the morning for the incredibly scenic trip north, with stops at Turnagain Arm (in hopes of spotting a "bore tide") then continue north past Anchorage Palmer and the "sleeping lady" in the distance. Finally, it's on to the historic bush community of Talkeetna (base camp for the Denali climbs) You and your guide will walk the old streets of this unique and quirky town within view of the tallest mountain in North America. Overnight at our favorite local inn. |

Day 10Today is another highlight of this trip. First we will board a small bush plane for a flight seeing trip past the mountain—in full view of al the peaks and glaciers of the highest mountain in North America. Mid morning will find us landing at the little runway in Kantishna, the tiny mining community at the end of the road inside the park. Enjoy lunch at the local roadhouse, and maybe a little gold panning, and then board the private van for the exclusive Wildlife Tour to the park entrance. Expect to see all of the animals that you may have missed on the early part of your journey. Overnight at the park entrance at one of our favorite lodges. |

DAY 11 In keeping with the "no backtracking" theme of this trip, following breakfast you may relax on your deck in view of the sweeping vista laid out before you. Some may choose to visit the dogs of an Iditarod Champion. Finally, we'll visit the visitor center for those who want more info on the big park then it's on to the final leg of your safari - aboard the “Dome Cars” of the historic Alaska Railroad as it speeds past the countless rivers and mountain vistas on its way to Anchorage. Finish at 8:30 downtown- (hotel and dinner on your own.) Perhaps the bucket has room for day of wandering the streets of the bustling Anchorage with it's nataive Art shops, museums and and fun vibe... |
