Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1

Bears, Hiking or Fishing follow early Anchorage transfer to the lodge. After lunch, some will take a guided nature hike in the National Forest while others may opt, instead for a Fishing charter on our world famous beach. Those on the Bear version will fly into our wilderness “Bear Camp” for time with the wild bear of Lake Clark National Park. Return in time for happy hour & dinner at the main lodge.
Day 2

Day 2

The family will float through the clear mountain waters of one of Alaska’s most prodigious Salmon spawning grounds. This annual event brings Bear and Eagle in numbers to feast on salmon eggs and the carcasses of hundreds of thousands of dying salmon. This scenic float will bring you memories that you will keep for a lifetime.
Day 3

Day 3

North to Alaska! Visit the Fish Netting Site of early native peoples then learn the Russian history come to life with words of the Father of the still standing Orthodox Church. Then you’ll go inside a fishing Cannery to watch as they process the salmon catch of the nearby anchored fishing fl eet---some from the “World’s Deadliest Catch.” End your day panning “Gold” from the gravel of a producing mountain stream.
Day 4

Day 4

Kenai Fjords National Park! Take a short hike to the face of a retreating Glacier & spend the rest of this day viewing Calving Glaciers, Humpback and Killer Whales, charming Sea Otters and endangered Stellar Sea Lions. Return to the lodge in time for happy hour and dinner.

Day 5

The End of the Road! See early Russian Churches, active volcanoes, mountain vistas and probably baby Moose with their mothers. Your first view of Homer on Kachemak Bay is truly unforgettable and we will spend a fun filled day exploring the art and rustic uniqueness of a bush community at “Land’s End”.
Day 4

Day 6

Hike a gentle mountain trail to view spawning salmon jumping up a mountain waterfall. If you want to take a salmon home, join our beach guide for a morning of angling, including fly fishing instruction, if you like.
Day 4

Day 7

This morning boat into the silent and animal filled Wildlife Refuge, Hike a Tundra game trail---then board stable river kayaks for the slow drift down the meandering stream of a Wilderness Paradise. You may opt instead to join a salmon charter on your last morning. Depart for Anchorage in the afternoon. Depart the lodge for Anchorage at 2:30PM aboard the floatplane from our dock or via the commuter flight out of Kenai (transfers not included).
