This affordable Denali National Park trip is available as an add on to any 7 day Great Alaska Experience (sorry, not available as a stand-alone product). Travel from the lodge to Talkeetna one day, then on to Denali National Park for a narrated tour of the park on the second. Return by van (included) or Alaska Railroad (additional cost) on day three. This is a great way to make your one trip to Alaska one for the books!

Day-by-Day Itinerary

	Day 1 Today, following breakfast, you and your guide are off for some Denali touring!  You'll head north on Alaska’s most famous “Scenic Highway” through two mountain passes,  past hanging glaciers and the amazing "Bore Tide" of Turnagain Arm.  Mid afternoon will find you in the rustic town of Talkeetna, base station for the assaults on Mount McKinley.  Enjoy the back country nature of this legendary community and overnight in view of the “Great One”—Denali.
	Day 2 An early drive will find us at the entrance to our largest national park where you will board one of the famous Tour Busses for the wildlife ride into Denali National Park.  Park Traffic is restricted, so these busses are the only way to experience the park.  You and a few others will receive a narrated tour of the history, animals and grandeur of this incomparable location.  (We'll hope to see to see a few of the animals that you may have missed on the early part of your journey!)  Overnight at the park entrance at one of our favorite inns.
	Day 3 A relaxed morning after an exciting Denali adventure!  Rise at your pleasure for a relaxing morning as you enjoy your coffee or tea on your final day at the Park.  Choose from either a visit to the dogs of an Iditarod Champion or a trip the the Denali Nat. Park headquarters visitor center to pick up some information or mementos from thepark.  Then we'll head south for the 225 mile trip back to Anchorage and a drop-off at your hotel.  ITINERARY NOTE:   You may also choose to instead elect to make the return trip aboard the historic Alaska Railroad---we recommend it.  If you return by train, cabs will be available to take you to your hotel (on your own) or you may take the train all the way to the airport for an evening flight home.
