Day-by-Day Itinerary

	Day 1  We’ll depart the riverside main lodge in the morning for the incredibly scenic trip north, with stops at Turnagain Arm (in hopes of spotting a "bore tide") and the beautiful view from Mt. Alyeska.  Then we'll continue north past Anchorage and Palmer and the "sleeping lady" in the distance.  Finally, it's on to the historic bush community of Talkeetna, base camp for the Denali climbers).  You and your guide will walk the old streets of this unique and quirky town within view of the tallest mountain in North America. Overnight at one of our favorite local inns.
	Day 2 Today is another highlight of this trip.  Departing after breakfast, we'll arrive at the park entrance in a few hours..then board a small bush plane for a flight seeing trip past the big mountain (weather permitting, of course) in full view of all the peaks and glaciers of the highest mountain in North America.  Mid morning will find us landing at the little runway in the Kantishna mining district at the back of the park.  Enjoy lunch at the local roadhouse, and time to stretch your legs or even a little gold panning, and then board the private van for the exclusive Wildlife Tour to the park entrance. We'll hope to see some or all of the animals that you may have missed on the Kenai Peninsula portion of your journey. Dinner at a park entrance eatery and overnight at one of our favorite lodges or cabins.
	Day 3 You may choose a relaxed morning after an exciting Denali adventure, or rise early and hit the horseshoe trail nearby to stretch your legs and enjoy the legendary terrain. Either way, we'll end up at the spectacular Denali Park visitor center, where you can get great books, CD's, or other information about the great park.  Then, it's on to the train station to board the Alaska Railroad at 12:25 PM for the return trip to Anchorage.  Train departs at noon and arrives into Anchorage at 8:00 pm.  (You may also choose to continue to Fairbanks and fly home from there...ask your Great Alaska experience expert for more info).  Cabs will be available to take you to your hotel (on your own).   or take the train all the way to the airport for a late evening flight towards home.
