Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1

Arrival Day

Arrive into Costa Rica’s capital city and catch a cab (around $20.00 for a family of four) to a wonderful hand-picked downtown hotel (the hotel not included- average $110.00 per room per night).   Spend your first night in a great, metropolitan Central American city.  
Day 1

Day 1

Your van driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. at your hotel then travel via private van through an incredible Mountain pass bisecting the famous Monteverde Cloud Forest.  Along the way we'll travel over gorgeous rushing whitewater rivers like the Rio Pacuare and Rio Reventazon, then through a working Banana plantaion,  ending the drive at a quiet jungle river, where you’ll meet your guides for the 20 minute shuttle (by boat) down river to Jungle Tarpon Lodge. After lunch and orientation, you’ll hit the river for an afternoon of world class guided freshwater fishing for Snook or Tarpon. Return to lodge or family friendly happy hour, dinner and overnight.
Day 1

Day 2

Following an early breakfast, a guided tour of the magnificent Tortugero National Park.   You'll see once in a lifetime scenery and wildlife like crocodiles, green iguanas, egrets, tiger Herons, monkeys, sloth and more.  Return to the lodge for lunch and stretching your legs, then then travel down river to Barre Parismina- our unique local village.   Walk the beach looking for turtle nests , interact with the locals and learn the history of one of the earliest Costa Rican villages to endorse sustainable eco tourism. Return to lodge for family-friendly happy hour, dinner and overnight.
Day 1

Day 3

Choose from another day of sport fishing or another day of jungle exploration- your choice.  You may even choose to expore the region via stable and comfortable sea kayaks.  Return to the lodge in time for lunch and goodbys, then depart after lunch via private for your transfer back to your San Jose hotel or the airport.  Plan on arriving approximately 3:30 p.m. (Hotel overnight not included).
