Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

You’ll be met at your Anchorage hotel for the complimentary scenic van trip to the lodge. (Some choose to fly directly to the lodge by float plane).  After a thorough orientation you’ll get situated in your cabin, enjoy a hearty lunch and then hit the river for a guided afternoon salmon or trout fishing experince.  Silvers will be peaking as will the trophy trout, so the decision will not be easy! You'll return to the lodge just before happy hour and dinner.   ITINERARY NOTE:  Nature enthusiasts will fly to our award winning bearcamp for a few hours on the ground with the great Bruins of Chinitna Bay- then return to the lodge for dinner and happy hour.

Day 2

Trophy Trout in the Wildlife Refuge - clear mountain water, beautiful drifts and great fishing. Two to four anglers per Driftboat wade the Upper Kenai River in search of Char, Silver, Sockeye and especially Trophy Rainbow Trout.  Mainly wading, excellent for spin or fly enthusiasts. ITINERARY NOTE: nature enthusiasts will enjoy a moderate hike to a waterfall to see salmon leaping towards their spawning grounds.

Day 3

Salmon Fishing in power or drift boat. Four anglers per boat will cast for Silvers on the Kenai. Combination charters will often target several species, including Rainbow and Char.  Return to the lodge in the afternoon for your seminar, followed by happy hour and dinner.

Day 4

Fishermen will enjoy a day of wadefishing on one of our favorite streams, while the non fishing activity is Alaska's top single day cruise..in spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park.  Orca, Gray whales, Humpbacks, Sea Otter, Puffin and a myriad of sea birds call this amazing fjord home during the summer, with thousands of other species as well.  .
Day 5

Day 5

For fishermen, time to hit the Kenai for some salmon fishing.  Cast spinners for acrobatic silvers of swing a fly for an angry Sockeye...clear mountain water, beautiful drifts...great fishing. Two to four anglers per Driftboat wade the Upper Kenai River in search of Char, Silver, Sockeye and especially Trophy Rainbow Trout.  Mainly wading, excellent for spin or fly enthusiasts.

Day 6

Today fishermen will return to the salmon or trophy Trout fishing, and non fishers will float experience the Eagle Nest Float".  Drift along the clear waters of one of Alaska’s most prodigious salmon spawning grounds- the upper Kenai River.  Eagle aeries (nests) line the banks overlooking the hundreds of spawning beds.  We may even see bear feeding on the everpresent salmon.  Along with the migration of the huge Caribou herds, this is one of Alaska’s most impressive outdoor events.

Day 7

A final day of fishing for the anglers in the crowd and for the others, we'll boat to our Wilderness Camp on the Moose, then paddle into the silent and animal filled Wildlife Refuge.  Small and safe river kayaks will follow the meandering stream that drains the lakes of the “Wilderness Canoe Trail”.  Watch for Swans, Eagles, Osprey, countless ducks and Mergansers as well as the main targets, Moose and Bear.  Arrive back at the Wilderness Camp in time to be boated back to the main lodge and your float plane or shuttle flight to Anchorage.
