Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1

Arrival DAY + Day 2

You will be picked up at your hotel in Cancun or the airport. Your private van will take you through the jungle of the Yucatan to the island of Holbox. At the village of Chiquila you will board a private boat for the thirty minute ride to the beach in front of your home for the next few days. The manager will meet you on the beach and welcome you to the island and the lodge.

Next Morning spend the day at the beach. Plenty of time for sun bathing, reading, and checking out the local resturants that you would like to visit. Happy Hour at 6 o'clock just in time to see the sun sink in a glorious blaze of color.

Day 2-6

Day 3

 Today it's fishing for Tarpon and Snook in the Lagoons. Depart with your guide at 6am and head to the lagoons and flats. Spend the day casting in shallow clear water to the juveniles of this Tarpon nursery. Return to the lodge at 2pm for a cold cervaza.  The unique village is only steps away, and the interesting shops and galleries, along with a variety of restaraunts make for a wonderful and relaxing experience. Late afternoon and evenings will be spent on the sand and then on our beautiful terrazzo, perhaps sharing a cocktail while watching our spectacular sunsets.
Day 3

Day 4

Kayaking the protected lagoon or horseback riding in the surf or kite surfing offshore are your options for this day. The lodge manage will discuss the options and you can make your selection. Following happy hour, and our signiture margaritas you will walk to one of several nearby resturants for your choice of local or internatioal cuisine. Formal dress not required.

Day 4

Day 5

You will visit the famous Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza. This ancient ruins once the capital and shinning city of the Mayan civilization will help you understand the history and culture of which Holbox island is a part. Return to the island in your private guided van in the late afternoon in time for happy hour and sunsets. (Maybe a little casting of the beach before dinner)

Day 6

A Repeat of day 2- Fishing 2 to a boat
Day 6

Day 7

A Final day of pure relaxation. Maybe a little time re-visiting specialty shops or exploring the island by foot. You might even rent a golf cart (there are no standard vehicles allowed on the island and there is NO pavement.) Overnight listening to the sound of the waves lapping on the nearby shore.
Day 7

DEPARTURE Day

Your Last Day- You will rise late for a delightful last breakfast and a special espresso on the terrazzo. Depart mid morning from the lodge by small ferry boat for your connecting van to Cancun or your next fishing stop on the Yucatan Peninsula. We can arrange extension trips to Bone Fishing Lodges in Ascension Bay. You may also charter a small plane for the flight to the Cancun Airport from the little airfield on the island.
