Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1

aRRIVAL dAY

Fly into Costa Rica’s capital city and catch a cab to our selected downtown hotel (hotel and cab is  included not).  Overnight in a great, metropolitan city.
Day 2

Day 1

A 7:00 am departure from your hotel begins the van tour of mountains, cloud forest and banana plantation to the end of the jungle road. Board a riverboat for the exciting trip up river to the island paradise known as Jungle Tarpon Lodge. Enjoy a healthy lunch and head for the fi sh. Fishing fills the afternoon, then happy hour at the open bar and excellent local cuisine. Overnight

Day 2

A full day of activity. Following an early breakfast, head upriver to one of the wilderness rivers for a day or wildlife and scenic viewing and photography. An incredible day.  Return to the lodge for Happy hour and dinner.

Day 4

Day 3

A full day of activity.Following an early breakfast, a guided charter for Tarpon or other species, depending upon conditions.  Return to the lodge for lunch and a brief siesta, then its back out for another fishing trip in another location.  Your guide will explain the options for the day.  Return to lodge for happy hour, dinner and overnight 
Day 5

Day 4

Today brings another wonderful jungle adventure...experience the mystical waters of Rio California and it's massive Ficus trees, explore the very bearches where turtles nest each year or walk the streets of the wonderful village of parismina and meet some of the friendly locals.  Return to the lodge for happy hour and overnight.

Day 5

Rise late to the growl of the ever-present Howler Monkeys and have breakfast before heading to Mount Arenal by van to view this amazing active volcano. You will stop long enough enroute to take a thrilling harness ride through the Jungle canopy. Your day includes natural hot pools, grottoes, hiking and viewing one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Overnight in a hotel with a clear view of the eruptions (food not included on the last 2 days).

Overnight at a luxury resort and travel to San Jose with a stop at the
unique village of Saarchi
