Day 1

Today your guide and Alaska Nature photographer will meet you at your hotel and get everyone on the road. This year's date has been hand picked to target Bears feeding on  salmon...a truly amazing experience.  After an orientation at our main lodge, you'll drop your main bag and board a small plane for the flight to BearCamp®.  Excellent meals flown in daily served with fine wines combine with comfortable accommodations and unlimited time with the bears.

Day 2

Day 2

Another full day in the wilderness.  (Hope you've got a few memory cards and extra batteries with you!)  Along with the great viewing and photography, your guides will share their wealth of information on the bears you are photographing.  All meals, and overnight at Alaska BearCamp®.

Day 3

Day 3

Your final morning with the bears and true wilderness.  More time getting shots of the amazing bruins in their native habitat with majestic Mt. Illiamna in the background.   Following lunch, your return bush flight will bring you back to our main lodge and your riverside home for the next 5 days on the Kenai peninsula.  Private bath and gas fireplace will join with nightly happy hour, great meals and personal service to welcome you back to civilization!

Alaska Hiking

Day 4

Today you'll enjoy one of the amazing local trails that make the Chugach National Forest and Kenai National Wildlife Refuge justly famous.  Choose from a moderate, mostly level and fairly short trail to the Russian River falls to view salmon leaping towards their native spawning grounds- or select a more aggressive hike that will break a sweat and culminate in a fantastic view of the surrounding snow capped's your choice and there are many to choose from!

Day 5

Today we'll cruise the incomparable Kenai Fjords National Park!  The protected waters of Resurrection Bay and Aialik bay are some of the most amazing regions on earth and an absolute "must have" on  your wildlife photo "life book".  Your intrepid leader is renowned for her Orca and whale shots and will be on hand to help you with getting quality shots from the deck of a 100 foot cruise boat.  Along the short drive to Seward, we'll stretch our legs by walking to the face of a retreating Glacier close enough to nearly touch for a few "macro" shots of blue ice...then it's on to Seward to spend the rest of this day cruising and seeking calving Glaciers, Humpback whales and Orca, charming Sea Otters and endangered Stellar Sea Lions. Return to the lodge in time for happy hour, dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Day 6

Today your group will float through the aquamarine waters of the upper Kenai of Alaska’s most prodigious salmon spawning grounds.  This annual event brings Bear and Eagle in numbers to feast on salmon eggs and the carcasses of hundreds of thousands of dying salmon.  Along with the migration of the huge Caribou herds, this is one of Alaska’s most impressive outdoor events.  Shore side lunch will be served by your guide with reindeer sausage, fun cheeses and a robust Merlot or sparking cider following our trip through the beautiful Kenai Canyon.  Return to lodge for happy hour, dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Day 7

A day on the water with our expert, licenses fishing guides- perfect for beginners or experts!  Everyone traveling to Alaska should experience a day of guided fishing, and these trips can focus on catch and release trout fishing or target world class salmon to hopefully bring a little salmon for the table back home.   Those not interested in fishing will head out on a wildlife tour looking for Moose, brown and Black bear on the famous Skilak Wildlife loop rd.  Return to lodge for happy hour, dinner and overnight.

Downtown Talkeetna

Day 8

And now the Denali Experience!  We’ll depart in the morning for the incredibly scenic trip north, with stops at Turnagain Arm and "Beluga Point" (in hopes of spotting a "bore tide") then continue north past Anchorage towards the Chugach Mountain's rugged and forbidding peaks.  All this with  "sleeping lady" in the distance.  Finally, it's on to the historic bush community of Talkeetna (base camp for the Denali climbs)  You and your guide will walk the old streets of this unique and quirky town within view of the tallest mountain in North America. We'll enjoy a spectacularly scenic flight see of Denali National Park and Preserve from Talkeetna, then overnight at our favorite local inns.

Denali Flightseeing

Day 9

Traffic is restricted to only these buses and you and a few others will receive a narrated tour of the history, animals and grandeur of this incomparable location.  Every trip is different, however along with the animals, places like Polychrome Pass, the Savage River and Teklanika will stay with you forever.  They're the perfect complement to all you saw on the Kenai Peninsula portion of your photo safari.  Dinner and overnight at the park entrance at one of our favorite inns.

Day 10

DAY 10

Today you can rise early and relax on your deck in view of the sweeping vista laid out before you.  We'll choose between a visit the dogs of an Iditarod Champion  or a moderate wilderness hike before we head back to your hotel in Anchorage.  Return to Anchorage via Alaska Railroad in time for dinner on your own.  The terrain is spectacular, and it's a great way to see a new stretch of terrain for some great shots.  Dinner and overnight in Anchorage on your own.
