Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1Your Family Adventure will begin with a pick up at your hotel (3 designated pickup spots) in Anchorage at 7:45am for the scenic and comfortable trip to Great Alaska Adventure Lodge. After a thorough orientation, you’ll enjoy lunch and head to the beach to meet your guide and put on your waders! Depending upon the season you'll wade fish on the world famous Kenai river for King, Sockeye, Silver or Pink salmon right in front of your cabins. The kids will learn spin or fly casting (your choice), how to handle fish for release (or the freezer!) and have a great time. After the fishing's over, there's s a little time to relax before the family friendly happy hour and dinner (every night through night 6). |

Day 2Wake up to cruise the incomparable Kenai Fjords National Park! On the way to Seward we'll stretch our legs by walking to the face of a retreating Glacier close enough to almost touch. Then it's on to Seward to spend the rest of this day cruising and seeking calving Glaciers, Humpback whales and Orca, charming Sea Otters and endangered Stellar Sea Lions. Return to the lodge in time for happy hour, dinner and evening activities for the energetic kids and relaxation on the deck for the adults. |

Day 3Alaska Fishing! Today you'll target Salmon with your guide in custom aluminum river boats or drift for stable Mackenzie river drift boats. Depending upon the season, we may backtroll Backtroll, drift or cast for the word's largest King Salmon, cast spinners for acrobatic Silver Salmon or even swing a fly for feisty Sockeye salmon, depending upon seasonal availability. Each day unique, every trip, every day is different than the day before. Return to lodge for happy hour and dinner. |

Day 4Today we'll enjoy one ofthe areas incomparable hiking opportunities. Depending upon your families activity level we may tak a modest, mostly level trail ending at a waterfall to see salmon leaping towards their spawning grounds or take an energetic hike terminating at spectacular viewpoint overlooking Cook Inlet, the Chugach Mountains and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Lunch will be served on the trail, returning to the lodge in the afternoon. |

Day 5Your second day of guided fishing. Today you'll target our amazing Rainbow Trout in with your guide in one of our custom aluminum Mackenzie river drift boats. Both spinning and fly rods are perfect to access these beautiful fish. Catch and release is practiced on all the native trout species and it's a perfect time to teach the kids the importance of Return to lodge for happy hour and dinner. |

Day 6Your final day of guided fishing in this amazing trip. Today you'll target either salmon or trout...it's your choice after sampling each in the days prior. Return to lodge for happy hour and dinner. |

Day 7This morning we'll paddle into the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge- leave civilization behind as you head towards our tent camp on the Moose river. Nesting Swans, giant Moose, Beaver, Lynx and more call this region home. Return to the lodge via comfortable and quick river boats with shallow draft moters. Guided fishing is also available if you choose- drift or troll for salmon with one of our expert guides (this means an early wakeup!) returning to the lodge in time for depart to Kenai and your flight back to Anchroage. (Return to Anchorage flight not included). |
