This is a 5 day 4 night trip that combines 3 days of fishing with 2 days of jungle adventure. You can add whitewater rafting and kayaking if you like. We will pick you up at your hotel on day 1 and you will return to San Jose in the late afternoon of day 5

Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1

7:00 pickup at your San Jose hotel, then travel through a Cloud forest and Banana Plantations to the edge of the Jungle.   You’ll meet your guides at the end of the road and board a boat for the 30 minute shuttle up river to Jungle Tarpon Lodge.  You will arrive in time for lunch and a thorough orientation.  After lunch, you’ll join your guide for an afternoon of world class guided river fishing for Snook or Tarpon. Return to lodge or happy hour, dinner and overnight.

(Note—add an exciting Whitewater Raft Trip on this day for $200. You would return to the lodge late afternoon and thus not  be able to fish this day)

Day 2

A full day of activity follows early breakfast, when you will head upriver to the amazing Tortugero National Park—home of the famous Caribbean nesting turtles..  Spend the day on its wilderness rivers photographing birds, green iguanas, crocodiles and more.   This is an incredible day for viewing wildlife and primitive jungle environment.  End your jungle day with Happy hour and dinner. 
Day 4

Day 3

Following an early breakfast, enjoy a full day of guided fishing for Tarpon or other species. When the weather is co-operative, we will fish offshore in the morning. Return to the lodge for lunch, then its back out for pursuit of the Tarpon and Snook in the jungle rivers.  This is a memorable fishing experience conducted under the watchful eyes of the crocodiles and Howler Monkeys.  This region is one of the most naturally beautiful places you may ever experience. Return to the lodge for happy hour, dinner and overnight.
Day 5

Day 4

Another full day of jungle exploration.  Following an early breakfast you and the guide will return to a favorite viewing spot for photos of the Manatee, Sloth, Monkeys and the incredible bird population of the Tortuguero National Park  . for a day or wildlife and scenic viewing and photography Happy hour and dinner at the lodge.

Day 5

Rise to the chatter of the ever present Howler Monkeys. Have a last breakfast before another morning of your choice----Tarpon fishing or jungle exploration.
You may also choose to take a gentle kayak paddle through the mysterious back eddies of the jungle. Following lunch, depart back to your San Jose hotel. (You may choose to return to the city by small charter plane for an additional charge).
