This trip is what adventure travel is all about! The perfect blend of wilderness and comfort - combines Bear viewing, flightseeing, hiking and heart thumping whitewater rafting, sea kayaking at our Seacoast Adventure Camp and a day at the end of the road . 3 nights at remote camps and 3 nights at our comfortable main lodge.
Day 1&2: Make arrangement to board the early morning train out Anchorage to the seaport town of Seward, where your trip starts. Begin with Alaska’s most famous wildlife cruise where you can expect to see whales, sea lions, puffins, and otters amid Glacial Majesty. Following the cruise take a short boat ride to our wilderness kayaking “Adventure Camp”. Your guides will prepare all meals and instruct you in paddling, hiking and exploring this truly amazing area. There will be time for an evening paddle (after initial instruction), before your first night in the wild. Overnight in nylon outfitter tents with sleeping cots. Day two will be an energetic day of sea kayaking– we’ll paddle across the cove, exploring the crystal-clear waters and amazing scenery. Perfect for beginners or experienced paddlers, we’ll focus on the wildlife and incredible coastline while working on our paddling skills. For those who desire, we’ll also find time to hike by the hanging glaciers and waterfalls that surround the camp. Return to the camp in the afternoon for relaxing, tide-pooling, beachcombing or even clamming if the tides are right! Overnight at the camp.
Day 3:We’ll depart the camp early in the morning and head back to the main lodge for showers and a salmon bake lunch in view of the mountains of the National Park you just left. Following lunch and orientation, we’ll take a short drive to the airport for the spectacular bushplane flight to our Bear Camp. These 2 days may be the highlight of your travel career. The balance of the day is spent viewing bears. Cuisine is flown in daily from the main lodge and prepared by your guides. Overnight in comfortable “Weather Port” tent cabins with twin beds, and propane heat and light.
Days 4: Rise to the sound of waves lapping at our wilderness shoreline, then a hearty breakfast and more time with your guide and the incredible Brown Bear. You and very few others will share our camouflaged deck glassing for the 40 bears that call this area home. Following lunch, your return flight will bring you back to our main lodge on the Kenai River. Settle into your riverside cabin with private bath. Happy hour and dinner welcome you back to civilization!

Day 5: The adventure continues with a whitewater raft trip on the famous River known only as "6 Mile". It will keep your adrenaline pumping until the final pull-out. We ll end the day with a well earned shower, one of our nearly world-famous Happy Hours and your first dinner back from the outback. Overnight at the lodge. (Five day trips will depart, after a morning hike, on day 5, by float plane or commuter flight-not included).

Day 6: Homer: No trip to Alaska is complete without a visit to the End of the Road and Homer. Enroute we will see early Russian Churches, Active Volcanoes. Your first view of Homer and Kachemak Bay is truly unforgettable and we will spend a fun filled day exploring the art and uniqueness of the famous boardwalk at "Land's End". Return to the lodge in time for dinner. (Five day trips will finish their trip with a moderate hike, as in day #7, before departing for Anchorage at 2:30pm by commuter flight or float plane.)
Day 7: On your last day our guide will escort you on their choice of hiking excursions in the Wildlife Refuge. This can include energetic hikes to an alpine valley lake or relaxed hikes to the base of waterfalls to see the salmon leaping to their spawning grounds. You may also choose a morning fishing charter. Following group pictures at the lodge, you will depart on your short return flight to Anchorage.
