Just 100 miles and one short ferry ride 
away from the bustling beach town of Cancun, (yet worlds away) Holbox Island may be the perfect place to leave your "day to day" behind. The Yucatan Peninsula has been one of sport fishing's premier destinations for decades, and now our superb Tarpon fishing has cemented it's reputation as a place to add to every traveling angler's "bucket list". Holbox Fly Fishing Lodge is the perfect combination of warm water fly fishing and superb beach front accommodations.
Unlike most world class destinations, Holbox Fly Fishing & Adventure Lodge is a perfect spot not only for the sport fishing purist, but for the non fishing members of the family as well. The beaches are legendary for sun lovers, the Island itself defines the laid back, "out of the way" (but sophisticated) Island vibe and the scenery and wildlife is world class. Our lodge is the only property on Holbox Island dedicated to fly fishing enthusiasts and their non fishing partners. Anglers and guides pursue huge adult Tarpon during the spring, summer and fall months as well as baby Tarpon, Cobia, Sea Trout, Snook, Barracuda and occasionally Permit in the clear gulf waters, endless flats and mangrove lagoons. You may even choose to create the ultimate combination trip with an extension targeting the Bonefish of Ascension Bay.
Non fishing partners have a number of options to choose from- check our "couples Trip 1 & 2" for two great options. Non fishing activities are great...try horseback riding on the beach, "sweet water" cenote (freshwater) swimming, Whale shark viewing trips, jungle or oceanfront kayaking, birding and Island exploration with hours of relaxation on the empty white sand beaches of this undiscovered island. Some of the itineraries include a trip to the incredible ruins of Chichen Itza, and viewing the pink flamingos that gather here each year.
Trips include pickup at the airport in Cancun or at your Cancun Hotel. Private van transfer to the seaport of Chicquila is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours through a facinating, rural countryside. Once you reach Chiquila, you'll board a small boat for the quick transfer to the captivating Island of Holbox. There you'll be met by your lodge manager and travel the final distance by golf cart to your beachfront home for your stay. (Golf carts are the only means of transportation on the island, other than of course small boats and your own two feet! Once at the lodge, you'll be pampered by our Lodge manager, who will see to every detail of your experience, all while making his famous shots of morning esspresso, snook Ceviche or lobster Quesadillas.
