Dining at Great Alaska
Our all - inclusive Alaska Resort packages include three meals per day, Beginning with lunch on your first day and ending with lunch on your final day) along with a nightly happy hour with appetizers
..................................................................................................................................................................................
Meals are all-important on any vacation, and the staff and managers of Great Alaska Adventure Lodge want your experience at the lodge to be nearly as memorable as your time in the field. With our guests arriving from all over the world, serving fresh, healthy foods is a key ingredient for any trip, so wild Alaskan Salmon and Halibut is a must, along with Chicken or turkey entree's with a flavorful sauce and of course prime rib, flank Steak or London Broil for the carnivores! All dinners include a garden salads, fresh vegetables and of course, dessert!
Our executive Chef and his accommodating staff are happy to work with your specific dining needs..whether it be a vegan diet, gluten intolerance, kids who don't love the vegetable scene or reduced fat/sodium diet for those being extra "heart healthy". Please let us know of any specific restriction you may have during the reservation process and we will happily adjust for your own personal meal plan so as not to "blow the diet" on your trip.
Lunch
Our trips are active, so other than your first day, when you'll have lunch in the main lodge immediately after your trip orientation with your trip manager, lunches are served on the trail or in the boats. On your arrival day, wild Salmon and Clam seafood chowder, fresh salmon or halibut fillet, garden salad and pasta salads and many other specials will make their way onto the lunch menu. For the balance of your lunches while at Great Alaska Adventure Lodge, in the morning while you are enjoying breakfast, the kitchen staff will lay out a smorgasbord of lunch meats, breads and cheeses, vegetables and condiments, so everyone can create their own "perfect lunch". Homemade cookies, fresh fruit, chips and filtered water round out the "adventurers' lunch". In keeping with our goal of improved sustainability, we have given up the water bottles for reusable Great Alaska logo water bottles, which will be issued to all arriving guests. We'll have filtered water coolers available in the lounge and the dining room for refilling any time during your trip- the bottle is yours to take home. Some daily adventures include a shore side lunch prepared by your guide, with Reindeer Sausage and a flavorful cheese, a glass of matching wine and chicken or fish draped in caramelized onions, peppers and juicy tomatoes.
Breakfast
In thirty years of showing guests the amazing Kenai Peninsula (and Costa Rica and Mexico) we have found that a quintessential "American" style breakfast is as popular today as it has ever been. As long as there are some lighter options (granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants and jam) the old standby's are still a big hit with the "up before the sun" crowd. Great Alaska Adventure Lodge has been fortunate to work with the amazing "Chef Stanley" for over ten years, working with our guests to provide the perfect breakfast for you. Every morning there are vegetarian options and lighter fare, plus the "entree of the morning"- eggs Benedict, fisherman's scramble, The "All American" bacon and eggs, blueberry pancakes, and of course Stanley's famous biscuits and gravy! Stan knows that sometimes a great story or good conversation is "the perfect condiment", and our guests mention him over and over in their comments about Great Alaska. Stanley and the entire lodge staff will make you feel welcome and ensure that meal time is a great part of your day.
Dinner
Dinners are served in the main lodge following our "nearly world Famous" happy hour. During happy hour, you'll get a chance to speak to the guides, other guests and the management, as we coordinate all the comings and goings for the following day. During happy hour in the Adventurer's Lounge, both Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available (all included in your package) as well as tasty appetizers to get your palate ready for the evening repast. Great Alaska serves plate side, with a single entree per evening....Fresh Halibut and salmon, of course are staples, as well as chicken, London broil and other favorites. If you have any dietary concerns, be sure and tell your adventure specialist when you book your trip. Great Alaska is able to adjust the daily dinner options to fit vegetarian, gluten free and other specific diets.
