Costa Rica Fishing Lodge & Nature Getaway

Located just south of the amazing Tortugero National Park, on the Caribbean shore of Costa Rica, sits the Costa Rica fishing lodge and nature getaway Jungle Tarpon Lodge. Combining incredible sport fishing, wildlife viewing and cultural and scenic explorations, our trips cater to your specific desires. Whether you elect all day, every day guided fishing, or combine sport fishing with with birding, sightseeing, rafting and other adventures, our experienced, English speaking management will take excellent care of you and ensure that your trip is a success. Surrounded by ancient jungles and a variety of animal and plant life that can only be described as awe inspiring, your Central American adventure will take your breath away.

All Inclusive Package: Our packages make planning your Central American experience a snap.  Simply fly into the capital city San Jose (roughly 3 hours from Dallas or Miami) and catch a cab to your downtown hotel (ask us for a current listing or our favorites...)   You'll be met there the next morning by your driver for the transfer to Jungle Tarpon Lodge.  On your final day you’ll leave early from the lodge and be dropped off at your downtown hotel (not included) or direct to the airport, in time to make a departing flight around noon.

Jungle Tarpon Lodge is Costa Rica’s Premier Sport fishing and Adventure Destination, specializing in intimate groups of anglers and adventure travelers. This roadless wilderness of ocean, river, rain forest and jungle is home to 3 types of nesting sea turtles, innumerable bird species, plus of course world class Tarpon and Snook fishing.

World Class Trophy Tarpon Fishing

Our sport fishing anglers depart each day targeting (and generally being quite successful intercepting) full size Trophy Tarpon averaging over 60 pounds, plus marauding Snook (the world record was taken near the lodge) and many more species.  Fly fishing and spin fishing are both effective ways of taking (and releasing, of course) these fine fish.  We may keep a tasty Snook or Tuna to enjoy for dinner with local fruits and vegetables harvested from our own property, but otherwise we practice Catch and Release.

Eco Adventures

Those enjoying the Eco Adventures side of the coin will explore our very own turtle nesting beach, motorboat up a secluded river to photograph fantastic birds and wildlife or simply sit under the tile roof of your room ad listen to the Howler Monkeys jump from tree to tree and sing to you…sit in the local cantina and watch the local teams fight it out on the next door soccer pitch or simply wander the beach and village taking in the incredible remote jungle vibe.

Many couples and families choose to combine sport fishing and Eco Adventures into a single experience.  Perhaps fish for Trophy Tarpon in the morning and explore the jungle, photograph wildlife, paddle a calm lagoon or simply hang out in the afternoon..this unique combination is what makes the Great Alaska and Jungle Tarpon Lodge experience so unique.
