Jungle Living!

by Matthew Miranda

I must say I was a bit nervous as I have never gone deep into the jungle and was not sure what to expect for my recent fishing trip to the Jungle Tarpon Lodge. Carlos 'lodge manager' catered to all our needs and more. The staff followed his leadership in that nothing was to much trouble for them. Seriously, from the drivers picking us up in San Jose, to the kitchen staff, housekeeping, and especially the guides, the service was amazing. I guess the best to way to put it, it felt as if they were our friends. When you are there, ask Jason for a tour of his village and meet his mom who is a Peace Corp transplant some 30 years ago. Jason found a new born monkey two months ago and she is now raising it until she can transport the little guy to a local rehab center to be reintroduced to the wild. Jason's mom is also president of the local turtle rehab foundation so go with lots of questions. Enjoy...........Matthew
