AN ALASKA TOUR IN THE WILDLANDS
An Alaska tour of the Kenai Peninsula, located just south of Anchorage, gives the visitor a view of a microcosm of Alaska; over 16,000 square miles of impossible beauty and bounty. Since the late 1800’s, adventurers have crossed the globe to experience its incredible variety of glacial ice and towering peaks, gentle lowlands, tundra, breathtaking saltwater fjords and abundant wildlife. The Great Alaska Adventure Lodge is located at the very spot where for millennia natives spent the summers catching salmon to sustain them over the long winters. This incredible riverfront location along with state and federal limited entry permits allows us to share with you an amazing Alaska tour of the scenery, wildlife and sport fishing in three National Parks and the Kenai Peninsula. We are permitted with the following Parks, Refuges and Forests.
Chugach National Forest
This is one of the greatest expanses of beautiful public lands in all of Alaska. We flightsee the glaciers and peaks of the Chugach mountain range, raft its rivers and hike the trails of its endless forest.
Lake Clark National Park
The Aleutian and Alaska Mountain Ranges meet at the shores of the Cook Inlet to form this fabled land along the Pacific Rim. The jagged peaks and dazzling scenery of this road less wilderness complement an exceptional concentration of wildlife. Our fly in Bear Lodge and the awesome creatures of the region sit under the watchful eye of two 10,000 foot volcanoes.
Kenai Fjords National Park
Crowned by a 700 square mile Ice field, a remnant of the Ice Age, Kenai Fjords National Park is a pristine and rugged land. This area boasts unnamed waterfalls and canyons, glaciers that sweep down narrow valleys and a coastline maze of misty fjords filled to the brim with seabirds and marine mammals. This region, home to our Kayak Adventure Camp, is known for legendary wildlife cruising, kayaking and halibut fishing. Truly the crown jewel of coastal Alaska, our offshore Pacific Halibut fishing excurtions occasionally venture into this incredible region. Migrating whales, millions of sea birds along
Denali National Park
The Athabasca Natives call it Denali, “the high one”, and the massive 20,320 foot peak is the centerpiece of the glacier strewn Alaska Range. Our 10 day National Park Safari We have chosen to view this magnificent sight up close from a small bush plane to guarantee a sighting and avoid the extensive travel and crowds of conventional trips.
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge
The Kenaitze Indians were the first to inhabit this land, followed by Russian Gold and Fur Hunters and now adventure travelers and fishermen. The Kenai Mountain glaciers drain into nine river systems that form the nucleus of our fishing and outdoor safaris. No region in Alaska boasts more diversity, beauty and accessibility than the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, the home of our Wildlife Tent Camp.
