It seems like Dad is always the last to catch a fish, the last to limit, etc...and...
With generous donations from Alaska Wildland Adventures and National Wildlife Federation, the AWRTA board of directors has been working with some of the nation’s premier marketers and web designers to develop a “best-in-class” Alaska tourism website featuring AWRTA business members and promoting sustainable tourism practices. Along with our successful new certification program, Adventure Green Alaska (www.adventuregreenalaska.org), we believe that Visit Wild Alaska will change the marketing landscape for AWRTA members.
In recognition of the difficult economic times, the board of directors has decided to maintain AWRTA membership fees at their current 2009 levels for the 2010 membership year. The new website will go live next month and will include the choice of a basic or premium listing for all current AWRTA business members. A basic listing on Visit Wild Alaska website will be free with AWRTA membership. Premium listings will cost an additional $300. The AWRTA board will also consider granting hardship waivers and revised payment schedules for new or struggling businesses, especially those from remote parts of Alaska.
I hope you enjoy the look of the new site and the Visit Wild Alaska e-News which replaces our old standard, the Bullhorn. If everything feels different...that's because it is! Please feel free to call the AWRTA office and speak to our new director, Hanna Waterstrat, or call my cell at (907) 398-6372. I'd love to share our vision of AWRTA as we go forward in these critical times . . . and thanks for all of your support.
